Last night’s tragic shooting rampage in an Aurora, Colorado movie theater at the midnight premier of the new Batman film; “The Dark Knight Rises“, once again serves up an opportunity for Liberal politicians, activists and commentators to push for radical, dangerous and un-American “Gun Control”. Rather than looking at the incident from the perspective of a criminal act, perpetrated by an evil criminal, the Progressivariat instantaneously, willfully ignores all the non sequiturs, and takes a hate-filled, overheated and overwrought leap of illogic to push for implementation of universal gun control laws, while attempting to blame law-abiding Americans, Conservative commentators and writers like Rush Limbaugh and especially Conservative groups like the Tea Party and the NRA.

Contrast the event at the Aurora movie theater with the less than three days before. At an internet café in Florida, a Concealed-carry licensed and armed citizen disrupted an armed robbery by two thugs. Samuel Williams, 71, drew his weapon to defend himself and 30 fellow patrons of the Palms Internet Café after two armed robbers entered the establishment and began threatening customers. He fired on the brigands, wounding them and sending them running for their lives. Other than a computer monitor smashed by one of the burglars, not one of the patrons was injured in the incident. You can see the surveillance video here.

The Left’s answer to incidences of violence like the Aurora tragedy, The Fort Hood shootings, Virginia Tech massacre, or the Tucson shooting is twofold: step 1, blame Conservatives and their bitter clinging to God, Guns and Antipathy; step 2, push for radical universal gun control. The only problem is that in all three recent cases, the narrative runs completely contrary to reality.

Jared Loughner, the Tuscon shooter was not a member of the Tea Party as originally reported, nor did he get “inspiration” from Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh as IgNobel Hack Paul Krugman alleged. Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech) never joined the NRA or the Tea Party. Major Nidal Hassan wasn’t a Republican; he is an Anti-American Muslim Extremist. And based on preliminary reports from Denver, James Holmes (the Aurora shooter) appears to have been a member of “Occupy Black Bloc” a subsidiary of the Occupy Wall Street movement. So, these mass murderers weren’t members of Conservative groups, clubs or organizations. They didn’t expound American values or ideas. They didn’t claim Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck or Mitt Romney as inspirations. Instead, they were all dangerously unstable killers whose mental disorders led them to violent, murderous hatred. The truth is they were all murderous, radical, extremists whose heroes are violent Terrorists and Leftists like Che Guevara, Bill Ayers, Anwar al-Awlaki, Osama bin Laden, and the Occupy movement.

Gun control will only lead to more incidents of mass murder. The incident in Florida proves that when citizens employ their Second Amendment rights, they can successfully defend themselves and their neighbors. The tragedy in Colorado illustrates the need for an armed citizenry that can guard against violent bloodbaths. But even more, we need to recognize the threat from Radical Leftists. While they engage in violence, hatred and mayhem they repeatedly and consistently blame their political opponents for their actions. Hatred, Death, Murder, and Destruction are products, methods, goals and means of the Left. Not the Right. The sooner we recognize that, the safer we’ll all be.
