From Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows (Part 2) comes this line from the villain, Voldemort. Following an enormous battle at Hogwarts, with many casualties among the wizards of the school, Voldemort withdraws, seemingly on the cusp of victory. As both sides regroup their forces in order to prepare for the final confrontation, Voldemort uses his powerful magic to propel his terrifying voice into the halls of the school to deliver a final, unmistakable, ultimatum to the bowed, but as yet unbeaten corp of wizards who await the final attack with dread:
“I know that many of you will want to fight… some of you may even think to fight is wise… but this is folly. Give me Harry Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded. You have one hour.”
The enticing words of a thug, promising peace. Numerous brutes, strongmen, tyrants and dictators – all of Liberal persuasion – have all made similar proposals to their enemies – right before unleashing a slaughter. Now, imagine Obama speaking these words to the Republican members of Congress and the American people at large.
Instead of magic, think of the Bully Pulpit and take President Obama’s threat to Speaker John Boehner to use his Inaugural Address and State of the Union address to make false claims to the American people, in which he would blame the Republicans for the failed negotiations over his desire to raise taxes.
With Speaker Boehner unable to persuade the majority of the House Republicans to go along with numerous backup plans for raising taxes, he’s been forced to come up with plans that can get Democrat votes; something which should have been unnecessary and unneeded. With the fight to avoid the “Fiscal Cliff” over, Obama has once again successfully cornered the GOP into bending to his desire to raise taxes on the American people. With the Debt Limit just around the corner, it’s only a matter of time before he once again raises his iron fist to try to force his unwanted “mandate” on the people.
Using Voldemort’s speech is the best way to understand Obama. Take the word “Hogwarts” and replace it with America. Take the words “Harry Potter”, and replace them with “the rich”. Obama demands that Republicans abandon their principles and convictions in order to You now have a completely accurate understanding of Obama’s Economic Policies, and his high-handed, iron-fisted tactics. There is no fundamental difference between Lord Voldemort and Barack Obama. It’s telling that Leftists have to employ cognitive dissonance in order to project their understanding of their twisted, evil and nihilistic beliefs onto Conservatives.
