Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL) announced on June 15, 2015 that he was running for President.

The same day at Miami Dade College, a state college located in Miami, Florida, he took the stage in front of supporters. Bush gave a speech in which he outlined his motivation for a run:

“We will lift our sights again, make opportunity common again, get events in the world moving our way again.”

In announcing his intention to seek the presidency, Bush becomes the 11th candidate to join an already diverse GOP presidential field, including former Governors Rick Perry (R-TX), Mike Huckabee (R-AR) and George Pataki (R-NY), current Republican Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Rand Paul (R-KY), former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), and former pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson as declared Republican candidates.
