Lisa Falkenberg, Fred Goodall, and I joined Craig Cohen to discuss several very interesting topics this week on Houston Public Media‘s show Houston Matters, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: First, the horrendous ugliness of a Harris County grand jury’s decision this week not to indict the abortion mill on the Gulf Freeway, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, but rather to indict the two pro-life activists (David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress), whose undercover sting operation prompted the investigation in the first place.
We also discuss Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner signing an executive order this week requiring a new focus on how the city deals with its budget, and his decision to place conservative Republicans at the forefront of addressing the looming insolvency of the city.
Finally, Harris County Commissioner’s Court this week tasked the County Engineer’s Office with preparing a study into the feasibility and impact of building a parking lot under the Astrodome, which defying the laws of physics and scientific understanding of entropy, continues to exist on the South Loop, next door to NRG Stadium.
