While Barack Obama was voted into office twice and served two disastrous terms as President of the United States, he received one of the lowest approval ratings from Americans. Via Gallup polling, as an average over his entire term, Obama received an approval rating of 47.9% – lower than almost all his predecessors since Gallup began presidential approval polling during the Truman administration. Presidents Truman and Carter received less approval overall, and the only Republican who garnered lower approval than Obama was Gerald Ford.
