What does The Left look like? For evidence, watch this video of the Constituent Town Hall hosted by Representative John Culberson (R-TX CD-7) at Spring Branch Middle School in Houston, Texas on Saturday, 03/25/17. This is an unvarnished, unedited view of the growing threat leftism presents to the Republic.
What can be said of the crowd attending the town hall? First and foremost, this was an angry, highly-motivated, well-organized, committed, hard-left crowd. They boo an opening prayer – many of them can be heard interrupting during the prayer and making comments. Many of them refuse to say the word “God” during the Pledge of Allegiance.
It becomes very clear early on that they’ve arrived with an agenda in mind, along with the motivation and tools to carry it out. They had pre-printed green (AGREE) and red cards (DISAGREE) which they used to visibly display their approval or disapproval of every response made by Culberson. Their shouting of “Do your job”, interspersed with their vociferous booing of anything they opposed, effectively served to create a very hostile atmosphere for anyone not aligned with the radical agenda.
Their demands included implementation of single-payer healthcare, open borders, and gun control – all policies favored by the radical left, and which are reflective of the policy preferences of Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. With shouted demands for the release of President Trump’s tax returns and for an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, attendees proved to be much more focused on disrupting and obstructing the administration’s agenda than on finding solutions to the many problems faced by Americans.
While the vast majority of those attending the Town Hall were clearly unsatisfied by Culberson’s answers to questions, and were unswayed by his positions on policies discussed, it seems clear that their intentions were never to find common ground and agreement, but to disrupt, dissuade, and to push an angry, radical agenda. They can and must be stopped.

Culberson’s Statement on Town Hall Meeting
Houston, Texas – Congressman John Culberson (TX-07) released the following statement after the conclusion of today’s town hall meeting at Spring Branch Middle School.
“I would like to sincerely thank every constituent that took time out of their busy lives to actively participate in their government at today’s town hall meeting. Democracy requires participation by the people to be sustained, and I appreciate the opportunity to hear from the people I represent.
“Today, we had the opportunity to discuss the issues most important to the country: health care, border security, and tax reform. I welcome the feedback from the people that have given me the great honor of representing them in the United States House.”
